In 2016, UN Environment, with CITES, UNDP and UNODC, launched a global campaign in 8 languages to build a dynamic force to tackle the illegal trade in wildlife.

Habitat destruction, climate change, illegal trade and many other factors make it harder and harder for wild species to coexistent with humanity. But we know that healthy ecosystems are vital for human well-being and sustainable development. In this light, protecting nature is an existential issue!
This year’s World Wildlife Day is a great opportunity to raise your voice and inspire action to protect our planet’s wildlife. In 2018, with your help, I was able to win the Wild for Life Big Cat Team Challenge and secure crucial funding for the Snow Leopard Trust to further the protection of snow leopards. A few months later, the Government of Mongolia revoked mining licenses that had threatened this beautiful, mysterious creature. Progress is happening!
